Zone Launcher

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 September 2026  ·  Applies to the Zone Launcher Android app (com.bialy.zonelauncher)

In short

  • Zone Launcher does not require an account and does not sell your data.
  • Your zones, apps, folders, shortcuts and settings are stored only on your device.
  • The app collects anonymous crash reports and basic usage analytics through Google Firebase to keep the app stable.
  • The optional AI Assistant works in two modes. With Zone AI, your messages and any screenshot you attach pass through our Cloudflare Worker, which forwards them to an AI provider and counts your usage against your plan. With your own API key, they go directly to the provider you pick and never touch our servers.
  • Zone AI is a subscription with a free tier, Plus and Max plans, billed through Google Play. We do not store your conversations.
  • Sensitive permissions (accessibility, usage access, overlay, contacts) are used only to power launcher features on your device and are never uploaded.

1. Who we are

Zone Launcher is an Android edge-swipe launcher developed and published by Bialy Apps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Zone Launcher you agree to the practices described here.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Data that stays on your device

Everything you configure in Zone Launcher is stored locally in the app's private storage and its local database:

We have no server that receives this information, and we cannot read it.

2.2 Data collected automatically

The app includes Google Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. These services collect:

This data does not include your name, email address, contacts, or the contents of your zones. We use it only to find and fix bugs and to understand which features are used.

2.3 Purchases and subscriptions

Premium features and Zone AI plans are purchased through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and shares only a purchase token and entitlement status with the app so it can unlock the feature, restore purchases, and confirm your Zone AI plan. We never see your payment details.

2.4 Zone AI usage data

If you use Zone AI, our Cloudflare Worker keeps the minimum needed to run the service:

We do not store the content of your messages, screenshots, or the AI's replies after the request has been forwarded to the provider and the reply returned to you.

3. Permissions and why we need them

Zone Launcher asks for several Android permissions. Each is used only for the feature listed below. Data accessed through these permissions is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us.

PermissionWhy Zone Launcher needs it
Accessibility ServiceDetects which app is in the foreground so zones can be hidden in blacklisted apps, keeps the overlay service alive, powers action buttons such as Back, Home and Recents, and captures a screenshot only when you explicitly use the AI Screen Assistant. It does not read or record the content of your screen for any other purpose.
Display over other appsDraws the edge-swipe trigger and zone overlay above other apps.
Usage accessIdentifies the most recently used app for the "current app" actions and context menu.
Query all packagesLists installed apps, including dual and work-profile apps, so you can add them to zones.
Contacts and PhoneLets you add a contact as a shortcut and place a call from a zone. Contacts are only read when you pick one; they are never uploaded.
Photos, media and wallpaperLets you choose custom backgrounds, icons, and use your current wallpaper behind zones.
Camera and flashlightPowers the flashlight toggle action.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi statePowers the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi toggle actions.
Foreground service, boot, battery optimizationKeeps the launcher overlay running and restores it after a reboot.
InternetUsed only for crash reports and analytics, Google Play Billing, the optional AI Assistant, and downloading the optional wallpaper catalog.
VibrateHaptic feedback when you interact with zones.

4. AI Assistant

The AI Assistant is optional and off until you set it up. It can run in one of two modes, and you choose which.

What is sent in both modes: the messages you type in the chat, the conversation history for the current session, and, if you use the AI Screen Assistant, a downscaled JPEG screenshot of your current screen. Before the first screenshot is sent, the app shows a dialog asking for your permission and naming where it goes. You can decline.

4.1 Zone AI (subscription)

4.2 Your own API key

Screenshots are captured through the accessibility service only at the moment you trigger the AI Screen Assistant. Secure screens, such as banking apps and DRM-protected content, cannot be captured. Screenshot files are written to the app's private cache and are overwritten or removed as the cache is cleared.

5. Third-party services

The following third parties may receive data as described above. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

6. Storage, backups and retention

7. Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share data with advertisers, and the app contains no advertising SDKs. Data is shared with third parties only as described in this policy, or if required by law.

8. Your choices and rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data-protection laws, you have the rights those laws provide, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for the processing described here is our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and functional, the performance of our contract with you where you subscribe to Zone AI, and your consent where you enable optional features such as the AI Assistant.

9. Children

Zone Launcher is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Security

Your data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. API keys are encrypted with keys held in the Android Keystore. Network requests use HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app gains features or as laws change. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's changelog or in the app itself.
